Ms Fits is an irritatingly smug 32 year-old television writer who yearns to be Bob Ellis but will settle for Bob Hart. At least he gets free meals. Pompous nobjockey.

Crossing the line from poor taste into poorer taste.

Here's a conversation I had with a friend the other night, though I will protect her identity in case rabid hate crimers with burning torches want to come find her:

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: You haven't done one of those Wrong Crushes posts in a while.

Me: Yeah, I guess I haven't found anyone wrong enough to crush on.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: Are you still hot for David Hicks?

Me: Sure. He has lovely eyes.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: You want to know who I think is kind of attractive?

Me: Hit me.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: It's pretty wrong.

Me: You do realise I've confessed to fancying Robert Hill? There is no low too low.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: Okay. You know that guy who just shot all those kids at Virginia Tech?

Me: ......

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: Cho Seung-Hui.

Me: You're not serious.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: I know it's wrong.

Me: Really wrong.

Beat.

Me: Really, extraordinarily wrong.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: He's got beautiful lips.

Me: Oh my god.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: What? You said you were keen on Mehmet Ali Agca.

Me: So what?

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: He tried to kill the Pope!

Me: Yeah, but he failed.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: But he tried.

Me: But he failed. And the Pope forgave him.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: I can't play by your stupid rules.

Me: You're a stupid rule.

NAME CENSORED DUE TO LEGAL ADVICE: Pah, etc.

***********************

Was I out of order? Surely it's too soon to be passing judgement on Cho Seung-Hui's comeliness. I like wrongness as much as the next ill-bred lady, but this seems a bit much.

203 days til the next election.

p.s.

'I forgive you, my son...for being nine magical varities of attractive'.

Perhaps had NAME WITHHELD FOR LEGAL REASONS gotten to him earlier, then he'd not have turned into the homocidal square peg he did. Who can tell?

You could argue that Robert Hill is responsible for more deaths, being Australian "Defence" Minister during the invasion of Iraq. 400 000 at last count, though I'm sure they're not all his doing.

I'm hot for his daughter Victoria. She's a real spunkrat!

I believe any sense of propriety that I ever had was taken from me a few years ago when my grandmother said over a Christmas dinner, "It's funny you know, I think Bin Laden is quite an attractive man."

I would have thought you should be keen on Mehmet *because* he tried to pop the pope. As for Cho - nah, can't see it i'm afraid. NWFLR beats you for craziness.

Nah, mavis ming. Not very likely. I can bet you all the money in the world that this lady person would not have cast him a single (let alone a second) glance had he just been going about his business like a half-decent guy trying to get his shit together. It's only when his darkness surfaces that people like this suddenly perk up and take notice. This is what I find truly sick about this. The degree to which women reward the darker tendencies in men is really quite ming-boggling. Sick, sick, sick.

Of course, it's kinda hard to enjoy those rewards with two .22 holes in your head.

I like the idea of something being 'ming-boggling' tho.

I can go one further. You hear about those two suicides in outer suburban Melbourne yesterday by those two teenage girls? Well Id plough that until next November. Nah that is just sickening.

Not on topic but I have just read your profile. Bugsy Malone is a fave of mine also. My fave character is probably the little black kid who sweeps. I even have the friggin soundtrack on MP3 (if you have a record or tape or some shit that would just make me smile immensely). Im not even sure an official soundtrack album was released to be honest.

The official soundtrack album, script, graphic novel and framed poster.

I am pretty much as tragic as they come about Bugsy Malone.

I always thought the Unabomber was not without some charm. A rugged individualist, a would-be writer - what more can one ask for?
And some of the chicks from FARC (Colombian revolutionaries) aren't bad either...

I had a half Japanese girlfriend who was totally hot for Arno Breker sculpture and Leni Riefenstahl films. I told her I drew the line at Wagner, regardless of the aesthetics of a nicely pressed Schutzstaffel uniform. It didn't last. Bloody Asians(she loved that).

Reading his manifesto, one quickly discovers that Mr Kaczynski was/is virulently anti-leftist though.

24Apr16:21

Yep, I've read the Unabomber's manifesto. It's a bit turgid, and more than a little paranoid.
Still, pairing him up with a left-leaning partner might lead to some hilarious 'odd couple' kind of encounters. Now there's an idea for a sit-com...

What? His only real mistake... not dressing quite as snazzy as 'the Joker'

Wow.

I've been harbouring shame and guilt for years because I once gazed lustily upon Bob Katter's twenty-something daughter from across a crowded room... didn't realise that I was so far down the wrong-crush ladder!

'Evil' is a pretty powerful aphrodisiac. Everyone loves a baddie. The most insane, most demented psychopaths in maximum security prisons also get the most amount of mail from bored single mothers/ trailer trash. Killed your wife? You might get a dozen postcards. Eviscerated your neighbours' children, raped dogs and started your own cult? Baby, you've got your self a fan club! Every hockey mask-wearing, cannibalistic, necrophiliac serial killer would have scored of chicks lining up wanting to be the next severed head to be used as a bed post for these dashing individuals.

p.s. Don't know if you've been getting these bad taste jokes but: What do Mt. Everest and Virginia Tech have in common?

They both have a killer slope and they're both minus 32.

fatman,

while the line isn't particularly funny, I am nothing if not FASCINATED by how quick that joke circulated on the inter-knobby. I got it in an email 7:51pm friday - obviously it circulated a lot earlier than that - who thinks up that guff? I'm fascinated.

"it's all err *ahem&* 'totally wrong and not funny at all, uhmm'
*extricates tongue from cheek*

Good taste central: spree-killer lust combined with racist jokes, all we need now is homophobia & Holocaust-denial & we'll be holding a full house. Or maybe a straight flush.

Why not be attracted to one of history's many eligible footnotes who actually DID kill a pope?

What if, by his actions, Cho actually killed someone who was going to end up BECOMING the pope? What if that potential pope would have relaxed policy on contraception and reproductive rights? And what if one of the people who would have been aborted, but didn't because that pope never became pope and instead the actual guy who became pope was a hardliner, what if one of those non-abortees grew up and went back in time and killed Hitler in 1921? And what if because of this there was no Holocaust, and therefore Mel Brooks never made The Producers?

I guess what I'm saying is, CHO SAVED MATTHEW BRODERICK'S CAREER!

Ms Fits you are indeed a tragic Malone fan. I thought me knowing the words to "My name is Talullah" was pretty bad, but if you have the script, then please take this cake. Did you ever stalk Scott Baio?

Oooh, psycho killer groupies. This is a common and well-understood phenomenon, relating to nascent masochistic desires and the usual cult of celebrity thing. Like all day-dreamy fantasies, this one is harmless and should not foment guilt.
