The problem with throwing around labels like misogynist and homophobic unjustly, is that they soon lose their meaning and just become generic terms of abuse.
I'm sure His Holiness won't mind my calling him a sexist poof-hater since he's obviously left this mortal coil and is thus immune to my earthly taunts.

You know what? ...I've been pretty put off by all the pope bashing going on about town since the guy died. It makes me wonder if the people I identify with are really just like the people I don't identify with... all looking for any opportunity to score a cheap point against someone. Rubbing their hands at the chance to kick someone while they're down.
I'm not catholic... but I think if I was I'd be pretty annoyed by the way people were choosing to view the leader of my faith from so narrow a point of reference as to dismiss him as homophobic and mysoginistic. It just doesn't seem to have any grounding in the real world.
Oh well... still love the site.
