Reasons you will hate me

Things to make you think a bit...no, really.

God I love New Weekly. Partly because of its in-depth analysis of political and social events, and kind of because of its biting commentary on the decline of civilisation and important environmental issues like global warming and what's up with whales and stuff. But mostly because of the incredibly lame three-page TRUE CRIME liftout.

This week's TRUE CRIME story focuses on a guy called Doug Robinson, an ex-con writer, who, his website tells us: 'offers the reader a refreshing innovation in true-life crime and adventure books. Written primarily from first-hand experience, some of these novels have been written from within the walls of a maximum-security prison.'

His latest novel is about 'society murderer' Matthew Wales, and Doug apparently got the inside skinny from being locked up with Wales himself, typing up the novel whilst in the clink.


But here's the thing. If I may let the author explain:


'When the book was finished some months later...How do I put this? I tactfully got the book out of prison on a floppy disk. Then all hell broke loose.'
