Ms Fits is an irritatingly smug 32 year-old television writer who yearns to be Bob Ellis but will settle for Bob Hart. At least he gets free meals. Pompous nobjockey.

This will only make sense if you're au fait with Tony Abbott and Peter Costello's defamation case against Bob*.

Peter is a friend

Yeah I know he's been a good friend of mine

But lately something's changed, it ain't hard to define
Peter's got himself a girl
And I wanna make her mine

And she's watching him with those eyes

And she's loving him with that body
I just know it

And he's holding her in his arms, late late at night

You know I wish that I had Peter's Girl...

etc etc etc.

Have you read Bob's new book yet? I haven't had a chance to buy it yet - is it everything that I'm hoping it will be?

It's everything you're hoping and more.

There was an excerpt in last weekend's Good Weekend and I've had a thrilling flick through my new copy. Beautiful, passionate prose from a flawed mortal with god-like tendencies. In my humble and in no way biased opinion.

Nick - it's brilliant. I've worked my way almost non stop through the damned thing when I'm supposed to have been moving house. And prior to reading it, I was a Bob Ellis virgin. Now the first words on my blog are his.

Ahahaha - true, it's not prominent enough in Australian popular consciousness [as if that would be possible], but I happily did my bit as a student, shouting the gory [alleged] details across a media law lecture when we got up to Messrs Abbott and Costello's defo writ.
