Normally I wouldn't do a post about Australian Idol. I know that it's more than a little gay and that most of the time you expect from me searing political commentary, insightful pop-culturism and the slightest hint of anal sex. But whatever. I'm a complicated Gemini and I will surprise you at every turn. And I can tell you're obsessed by that facet of my personality.
Watching Idol with dear ones on Sunday night, we amused ourselves during ad breaks with the 'What song would you pick for tonight's show if you were a contestant?' game. Yes, I'm aware it is unbearably wholesome. You should feel better about the fact that the game progressed to 'What song would you pick for Idol raping?' by about the second ad break. But anyway.
Conversation turned to Chanel Cole and what she should sing to tear the fuck out of the joint. We picked one that was so good it led to various bad Chanel impersonations and lots of wine-soaked enthusiastic 'We should totally post this on the Idol message boards*'-type conversation. So I'm true to my word. And I did it. And then my friend Gen drunkenly prank-called Andrew G's mobile. We are truly, truly a wild bunch.

...So my friends and I discussed it last night. The lovely CC would tear the roof off if she sang 'Sunny Afternoon' by the Kinks. That way not only reaffirming her love of Ray Davies, but also having ample chance vocally to display her killer hottness.
We are so convinced by it that I promised to post today. I hope she reads and takes note. xx

that is such a great song for her. Not sure a lot of the kids would have a clue who we're talking about but hopfully it will inspire them to get out and discover the kinks and ray. Chanel take note, this is a great idea!

Oh, how I love Idol. I am afflicted with total adoration for Chanel and a total inability to avoid using all the naughty words I have at my disposal every time Marcia dares criticise her. All hail the Queen!
